The Consortium

The Pi-MEP consortium is led by Ifremer and supported by OceanScope and OceanDatalab to ensure compliance with the project objectives. Ifremer acts as the Coordinator and keeps the responsibility for technical, managerial and contractual matters. Ifremer provides expertise in SMOS data, scientific use of SMOS data for salinity retrieval research. In addition, the team works in close collaboration with the SAG (Science Advisory Group), selected at the beginning of the project and continuously throughout the project with the user community. During 2019, NASA officially enters the consortium through an Exchange of Letters with ESA which imply more collaboration & developpement of the Pi-MEP in the coming years.
